Getting started with FortiPanel is simple. Once you grant the FortiPanel app the required permissions in your Microsoft 365 environment, we take care of the rest.

Our onboarding process is designed to get your environment connected, configured, and ready to use with minimal effort on your side.

We configure FortiPanel for your environment, connect the required services, and prepare your security dashboard and assessments.

Within 8 hours, your environment is ready to use.

How does the onboarding process work?

1. Grant app permissions

The first step is to grant the FortiPanel application the required permissions in your Microsoft 365 environment.

These permissions allow FortiPanel to connect to the required Microsoft 365 services and retrieve the information needed for monitoring, security assessments, and your dashboard.

You will be guided through the required permission process.

2. We configure your environment

Once the required permissions have been granted, our onboarding process begins.

We configure FortiPanel for your environment and connect the required services. This includes preparing the environment so that the relevant security information can be collected and displayed correctly.

You do not need to manually configure each individual component.

3. We validate the connection

After configuration, we validate the connection between FortiPanel and your Microsoft 365 environment.

During this step, we check that the required services are connected correctly and that FortiPanel can access the information needed for the security dashboard and assessments.

If anything requires attention, we will identify this during the validation process.

4. Start using FortiPanel

Once the connection has been successfully validated, your environment is ready to use.

You can log in to FortiPanel and start using your security dashboard and assessments.

Your environment is normally ready within 8 hours after the required permissions have been granted.

What do I need to do?

The onboarding process requires minimal action from you.

Your main task is to:

• Log in to your Microsoft 365 environment.
• Grant the required permissions to the FortiPanel application.
• Complete the permission process.

After this, FortiPanel takes care of the configuration and connection process.

What happens after onboarding?

Once your environment is ready, you can start using FortiPanel to monitor and assess your Microsoft 365 security environment.

The information collected during onboarding is used to prepare your security dashboard and assessments, giving you a central overview of your environment.

How long does onboarding take?

The standard onboarding process takes up to 8 hours after the required Microsoft 365 permissions have been granted.

The exact time can depend on the environment and the required services, but our goal is to have your environment ready as quickly as possible.

Do I need technical knowledge?

No extensive technical knowledge is required to get started. The onboarding process is designed to be straightforward.

You need the appropriate permissions within your Microsoft 365 environment to authorize the FortiPanel application. Once the permissions have been granted, the remaining configuration and validation is handled by FortiPanel.

Onboarding checklist

Before starting, make sure that:

• You have access to your Microsoft 365 environment.
• You have the required permissions to authorize applications.
• You can grant the requested permissions to the FortiPanel application.
• The permission process has been completed successfully.

Once this is done, we can configure and validate your environment.
